Jack Everett Hughes was born on May 8th, 2010 at Hutzel Women's Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Jack was 1lb and 3 ounces and 11 inches long having been born at just 23 weeks and 5 days gestation. He was quite the little fighter from the very beginning, trying to take off all of the little wires and things the doctors in the NICU had placed on him. But in the end, he was just too little. Jack entered into renal failure and had a pulmonary hemorrhage from which he passed away on May 10th, 2010. Jack was born prematurely due to my water breaking too soon, which as it turns out, was because I carry a rare blood disorder called MTHFR which leads to blood clots.
