Jack's Parents (Emily and Dustin)
Formerly, the mission of Jack’s Day was centered on providing bereavement support through memory boxes to metro-Detroit based hospitals. Having served this purpose for four years, the founders of Jack’s Day have decided to move forward into a new area that is also very important to their hearts-providing support to families with infants in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
After having been through three different NICU experiences, each with different circumstances and outcomes, one common theme emerged: NICU families need support. During a time when their baby may, or may not come home, these families are facing unique stressors.
Continuing to help Jack’s memory live on has always been key to our mission. We never knew exactly how, when or if our focus might change. Jack’s Day was called “the Giving Project” because we simply knew that we wanted to give back in some way. It is with this in mind that we have decided that now is the time to make that change.
If you would like to continue to support memory boxes being donated, we will gladly accept any items you have to offer, and pass them on to our local bereavement support group Metro-Detroit SHARE. They have taken on the task of continuing this important work and we will continue to make deliveries and assist in whatever way we can.
Please follow us on Facebook to keep up with all of our goings on! Find us by searching for "Jack's Day".
